| Located under the original
sandstone building are bathing chambers which were believed
to be used by the royal ladies. When Yamuna-kunja was
aquired it was not known to the devotees that the chambers
exist, as they were fully covered with earth. After weeks
of excavation work the chambers were discovered and since
then visitors are coming to know about this part of ancient
indian culture. Constructed from solid stone, Yamuna
water is filtered through the walls and filling the bathing
tanks. Previously the tanks were filled with water throughout
the year but due to Yamuna water being at a very low
level, these tanks are empty most of the year except
in raining season. |
